French Government will widen lockdown measures to entire country from 3 April
President Emmanuel Macron on the evening of 31 March announced that a local lockdown measures currently in effect in 19 departments would be extended to include all of mainland France from 3 April.
Restrictions include a ban on non-essential travel more than six miles (10km) from home and nightly curfew from 19.00 until 06.00 (local time).
The new measures will be in place for a least one month.
"We will lose control if we do not move now," he said.
