British Airways have advised that due to reduced demand they are cancelling some flights from London to the United States due to the impact of the coronavirus.

The airline has said in a statement, "they are merging a number of flights between March 16 and March 28 and will be contacting customers on cancelled flights so they can discuss their travel options, including rebooking onto other carriers where possible, full refunds or booking with BA for a later date of travel".

The cancellations will affect twelve flights from Heathrow to New York's JFK airport over the period.

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight to ensure they are not affected.
