Flights to one of Aberdeen International Airport’s most popular destinations are set to increase in the summer.

From May, KLM will operate an additional daily flight to Amsterdam Schiphol, increasing the number of flights to Amsterdam to five a day. This will be effective during the months of May, June, September and October.

As a result of the extra frequency, an additional 20,000 seats are on sale, increasing capacity by around 10% on the route. The additional flight will be operated by an Embraer 190, carrying 100 passengers. The extra frequency offers passengers an improved schedule between Aberdeen and Schiphol Airport, one of the world’s great aviation hubs.

Tickets are now on sale for the new flight which will operate on weekdays between 6^th May and 5^th July and between 2^nd September and 25^th October. KLM offers Aberdeen-based passengers quick and convenient connections to 165 destinations worldwide via its award winning hub at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Aberdeen International Airport’s Managing Director Steve Szalay said: “We warmly welcome KLM’s decision to expand its presence here at the airport. With more than an additional 20,000 seats available for passengers to purchase, this is a real shot in the arm for us as we enter an exciting period, as our Terminal Transformation project is on course for completion in the autumn.

“Amsterdam is a key destination for us for both business and leisure purposes, and we look forward to welcoming our passengers on to the additional flight later this year.”
