Delays to road, rail, air and ferry travel are likely.
The Met Office has issued a yellow danger-to-life weather warning for Ireland's coastal west, warning south-easterly winds could bring transport disruption late on Thursday and a second yellow weather warning covers the south of Wales and some parts of the southwest of England on Friday.
